Eight week course. William Morris (1834 - 1896) was an accomplished designer of wallpaper, tapestries, furniture, ceramic tiles, stained glass and typography, as well as an acclaimed poet, socialist and political activist. Focusing on his aim of social reform through joy in labour and beauty for all, this series of slide-illustrated lectures offers both an overview of Morris's role in the international Arts and Crafts movement and a reassessment of his works.
